March Giveaway!

It is time for Polka Dot Candle Shoppe's monthly GIVEAWAY! This month we are giving away one of our new products & You Choose The Fragrance!

We are giving away our highly scented soy blend in an 8 oz. Square Mason Jar.

I love these!!! I have one in practically every room of my home! I love these because, when burned properly, they will burn evenly and cleanly leaving no wax on the sides and leave a wonderful scent in your room.

I also love the type of wick I chose, since it doesn't have that aweful 'mushroom' and when you blow out the candle, you don't get much smoke at all! One of my pet peeves is when I blow out a candle and it has the 'red knob' on the top for hours it seems ~ which then produces tons of smoke in your home. And, yes this can happen to soy or paraffin!

TO ENTER: *USA ONLY* Please comment below and discuss the scent you would like. The scent descriptions are here.

The giveaway ends March 29th and results are posted on this blog Monday, March 30th.

(Sorry that this has to be USA only, candles can just be very expensive to ship out of the states.)

(Also, please vote for April's Scent of the Month.)

Thank you so much! And, good luck to everyone! :)

One Of My Favorite Things...

Anyone who knows me, knows I love candles! (Well, I guess that's pretty obvious. :) However, I have become addicted to handmade soap. It wasn't until I was a seller on Etsy that I began purchasing handmade soap. But, now I am hooked! And, I have to share some of my favorite sellers with you!

I've purchased quite a few items from Sagegold Soaps. I've even purchased some of her beautiful soaps for Christmas presents last year. My favorite scents so far are Mimosa (on the left), which smells like sweet oranges and sparkling Champagne, and Cranberry Fig which smells like tart cranberries and sweet figs. Yum! And, I can't wait to receive my next purchase from her, Blackberry Sage!

You can visit her store here.

The next store I love to buy soap from is Adoration. She has so many wonderful choices! I recently purchased her Strawberry Cheesecake (on the right) and the "Sugar Sugar Whipped Soap" for Valentine's ~ and it is divine!

All of her soaps are so pretty! And, after looking at her store today, I have my eye on her Sugar Sugar Body Polish. You can visit her lovely store here.

Another store I just love is Sweet Petula! I haven't purchased any soap yet, but it's on my wish list!

I love her Ruby Grapefruit Shea Butter Shave Cream. It's a great body wash as well, but it is wonderful as a shave cream! I just love it!

I have my eye on her Sweet P. Olive Oil soap and the Walnut Exfoliating Body Wash!

You can visit her beautiful store here.

And of course, you have to have something pretty to put your handmade soap in. I have this beautiful Porcelain Soap Dish from Mud Stuffing on my wish list. You can visit this lovely store here.

I think soap is sort of like candles to me, they are both a way to pamper yourself after a hard days work. Plus you can get so many wonderful scents! I've also noticed that handmade soap makes my hands so much smoother than regular soap ~ like I said, "I'm hooked"!

Feel free to comment about your experience with handmade soap, or about a particular shop you think I should visit! :)
